Travels to Duravit by Jenny Mills
Hornberg, home to Duravit for over 200 years is set in the black forest.
The Black Forest, Schwarzwald in German, was named so because of its density. As I understand it the Romans called it Silva Nigra. ... However, it is an area rich in culture and influenced a lot of the popular beliefs about Germany. Mar 20, 2018
We had a tour of the Duravit Design Centre including Test bathing on the 4th-floor test bathroom section for the Sauna and Spa area. An overview of the remaining floors with their bathroom displays included a visit to the giant toilet - the balcony accessed from inside the building to view the surrounding area from this steel and gypsum toilet set into the striking black box of the DDC. The building has fresh air systems with vents in the floor and a louvred central glass column venting and lighting the internal spaces.
We had time to enjoy the forest and village walk - dinner and an early night after travels.
